Some photographs I took whilst on holiday in Bangkok. This was the day we actually arrived, having had very little sleep on the plane on the way out, and my body clock being 7 hours out of sync, we spent most of the day by the hotel's infinity pool, then explored China Town later in the evening, sampling some amazing Thai cuisine.
Before we head out, we enjoyed drinks on the hotel's terrace bar on the 52nd Floor! The views were stunning, and as the sun went down over Bangkok in the distance, it was an amazing feeling! The way the whole city changed colour from a pale blue to orange and pink within the space of a few seconds as the sun set was awesome to watch!
We caught the BTS Skytrain to a stop near China Town and then, after observing what was going on for around 30 minutes, decided to eat at this road-side mobile food seller. I really dont know what else to call it! It was basically a selection of plastic garden chairs positioned around wooden pallets, crates, some tables and various other items forming a makeshift table! Neither of us had ever seen anything like it, but based on how busy the place was and the queue, we decided to go for it. We needn't have worried, the food was out of this world!!
Later, we took our first ever tuk-tuk ride into the Sukhumvit area. This was awesome. I had never been on a tuk-tuk before, but a mixture of the first day on holiday feeling, the 6 or 7 Singha beers inside me and the fact a tuk-tuk is just the best invention ever, made this journey a lot of fun! I spent most of the time hanging out of the back of it, taking photos of passing motorbikes, cars and pedestrians. There really is no better way to get around Bangkok, and the prices are just unbelievable, with a 7 mile journey costing us roughly 80 pence!
Once we got to Sukhumvit, we were both pretty exhausted, having been awake somewhere in the region of 50 hours now, we had a couple more beers and then took a tuk-tuk back to the hotel, knowing that we had a lot planned the day ahead!
