Roman and Emma were married in a fantastic little location, hidden away deep in the Lake District. Knipe Hall, a converted barn about 10 miles from Penrith was where they spent their full wedding day, a location Emma said she had found on the internet and instantly fell in love with – and I could instantly tell why!
Roman is a keen photographer himself, so I did feel a bit of pressure before hand, knowing that he may well be scrutinizing me, but I was flattered that he had asked me to photograph their big day, so I didn’t want to let him down!
Their wedding was filled with fun and a relaxed atmosphere amongst guests meant that everyone enjoyed the day. From the celebratory walk under an arch of cricket bats (did I mention both Roman and Emma are avid cricket fans?), to the retro jukebox allowing guests to select their own music for the evening, to the magician, and fabulous hog roast buffet – there really was a lot on offer throughout the day!
Luckily the weather, though it looked like it was going to pour down at any moment, held off all day, and we had a real mixture of bright warm sunshine and dark clouds above – but with no actual rain all day! This made for some pretty dramatic photos, especially the ones by the old phonebox!
Here are a small selection of photos from their fantastic wedding day
Thanks again for asking me to photograph your wedding!
